Shindzela has accommodation in six large tents, providing comfortable accommodation for a maximum of 16 guests. The mesh covered 'windows' are adjusted by means of flaps in order to keep insects out. In addition all the tents have a thatched roof with covered veranda, this help keep the tents cool in summer. The accommodation units have two 3/4 beds, and are provided with all bedding and towels. The en suite bathrooms have private shower, hand basin and flush toilet. Lighting by solar power. In summer there are mosquito nets above the beds. Swimming pool towels are also provided. The general Shindzela tented camp area has a swimming pool, dining tent, kitchen, the staff accommodation and a central fireplace – a perfect place where one may discuss ones safari experiences around the fire.

Accommodation in these authentic canvas safari tents brings back nostalgic memories of an authentic safari of a bygone era. Shindzela Tented Safari Lodge, owner managed, has deliberately decided to keep Shindzela undeveloped, so as to best blend into the environment, and to offer guests an undisturbed proper wilderness experience.

Guests at Shindzela tented safari camp enjoy early morning and afternoon guided game drives in an open safari vehicle, with a knowledgeable ranger and tracker. Shindzela Tented Camp also offers walking safaris to to those that are keen on walking; those wishing to participate on a walking safari should be prepared to walk from 2 – 4 hours, on trail. These wildlife walking safaris are led by a professional, experienced safari guide who is armed. We also have a tracker who is our back up on these walking safaris. Please let us know at the time of confirming your booking that you wish walking to be a priority.

Whilst Shindzela is a big five game viewing area, and we make every effort to seek out the Big Five during your stay, we also offer a holistic safari experience, including all aspect’s of the wilderness – animal behaviour, habitat, the trees, insect and general plant life, as well as viewing all the other species of game found in this bushveld.
